Dear friends,
The past couple of weeks have been… really hard. Honestly, we’re struggling. There have been a lot of downs, and only a few ups.
We were so thankful when the funds came in to fix Jay’s truck and cover the insurance—such an answered prayer. But shortly after, we learned the issue was more extensive than we thought. Still, we knew we desperately needed the truck, so we moved forward. Then today, we got the call: the engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced entirely. Simple, right?
All of this is happening right in the middle of team season. We just said goodbye to one team yesterday, and another group of nine arrives tomorrow. We’re short on beds, but the extras are 45 minutes away at Community of Hope—and we need our truck to get them.
On top of that, the ministry van has been down for months, which makes coordinating transportation for everyone a challenge.
It’s just been one discouragement after another. When we got the latest news about the truck, I lost it. It feels like hit after hit. I’m so grateful Jay has remained grounded, constantly reminding me, “God has us.” But to be honest… I’m a mess.
Earlier this year, when we received our tax return, we talked about how we’ve never really had the money to take a small family vacation. Still, we recognized how deeply we needed one. It’s been two years since our last getaway, and we’ve walked through so much trauma and heaviness since then. But now? How can we ask for help with truck repairs and then turn around and go to the beach two weeks later? So we’re looking into whether we can get a refund.
Would you pray with us?
- For peace and encouragement from the Lord in this season where we feel broken and worn down.
- For provision—about $3,000—to replace the truck engine so we can keep serving effectively.
- And for a future moment of rest—where we can breathe, reconnect, and just enjoy being a family.
We are so thankful for your prayers, encouragement, and support. Thank you for walking with us, even in the hard seasons.
With love and gratitude,
Jay, Kelsie, and Logan
